1st Drop Music is an Arizona-rooted musical universe built across distinct Artists, hundreds of releases, and a much wider range of sound than any sensible filing cabinet would volunteer to hold. The catalog moves through Hip-Hop, Electronic music, House, Techno, Rock, Darkwave, Industrial, Punk, Country, Folk, Pop, cinematic composition, instrumental beatmaking, Bass Music, Phonk, Trap, Ambient music, and Southwest Soul. The point is not to collect genres like trophies. It is to give different musical ideas the room, identity, and context they need to become fully realized work.

Behind the entire project is one human creator. Bear Gallagher-Cole, publicly known in music as Bear Cole, creates the music behind 1st Drop Music and all of its Artist identities. He is not simply the founder overseeing a roster or occasionally contributing to its releases. With rare outside production and collaboration where credited, the songwriting, performance, production, engineering, and larger creative direction come from one musical mind.

That connection is now part of the public story because honesty makes the catalog more interesting, not less. It explains how such different sounds, emotional perspectives, and creative worlds can remain connected across a long body of work. It does not make the Artists interchangeable. Each identity has its own musical purpose, voice, catalog, visual language, and audience experience. They are not disposable aliases, fictional replacements for people, or a marketing trick designed to make one person look unusually busy—although unusually busy would be a fair observation.

The 1st Drop Music family includes Bear Cole, Bear the Astronot, Feral Business, Indrid Coald, Michael Patrick Ceol, Oso Melodic, RACK WIDOW, Sagebrush & The Little Flowers, Turntable Kachina, WUUYUH, and The Wax Chumps. Each project exists because a particular kind of music needed more than a miscellaneous folder. It needed a voice, a history, a visual world, and enough creative autonomy to grow into itself.

Bear Cole carries emotionally direct songwriting through Electronic music, dance, Pop, Country Soul, and other connected forms. Bear the Astronot is rooted in underground Hip-Hop as an MC, producer, DJ, engineer, and songwriter with a long Arizona history. Feral Business brings rebellion, dark humor, sarcasm, and sharp Alternative energy. Indrid Coald turns warning signs, distorted rhythm, melody, humor, and confrontation into a dark messenger’s signal. RACK WIDOW builds hypnotic House and Bass Music for movement and deeper listening. WUUYUH explores Phonk, Trap, Bass Music, Ambient sound, and experimental electronic pressure.

Turntable Kachina works through sample-based beats, Downtempo music, instrumental Hip-Hop, and electronic atmosphere. Oso Melodic draws on beatmaking culture, groove, soul, vintage texture, and Southwest Soul. Michael Patrick Ceol creates cinematic and atmospheric electronic composition. Sagebrush & The Little Flowers crosses Country, Folk, songwriting, nature, and open-air reflection. The Wax Chumps focus on Hip-Hop, sample-heavy production, lyricism, and vinyl culture. The relationships between the Artists deepen the larger catalog without erasing the reason each one exists.

The Full Emotional Spectrum

1st Drop Music makes room for the entire experience of being alive. Some releases confront hurt, despair, mental-health struggles, self-harm, addiction, death, anger, and rebellion. Those subjects are treated with care rather than romanticized, sensationalized, or turned into branding. Other songs are built around love, gratitude, humor, joy, human connection, bright movement, and the uncomplicated pleasure of a rhythm landing exactly where it should.

Meaningful music does not need to speak in one permanently solemn voice. The label can be honest about pain without pretending pain is the only honest emotion. Wit, dry humor, playfulness, sarcasm, and the occasional sharp punchline belong here too. The darkness is part of life. So is the dancing.

1st Drop Music is connected to Tucson and Flagstaff, Arizona. The desert, the mountains, long roads, wide distances, changing weather, local creative communities, solitude, contrast, and movement between places shape the perspective behind the work. Arizona is not pasted onto the project as scenery. It is lived context.

That context also informs Southwest Soul: a musical identity shaped by Arizona experience, songwriting, groove, atmosphere, and the possibility of meaningful relationships between sounds that usually live in different sections of the record store.
